2019: UN International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements
Great News! 2019 has just been proclaimed by UN as “The International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements” to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Periodic Table by the Russian scientist Dmitri I. Mendeelev.
This is an important recognition of the fundamental role of the basic sciences, especially chemistry and physics worldwide, in providing solutions to many of the development challenges that the world is facing towards implementing the United Nations 17-SDGs.
This will coincide also with IUPAC100 Celebration!
